Exploring my connection to food.
Hi there, I’m Cindy, owner of UmamiHour. My appreciation for food as nourishment blossomed when my mom was diagnosed with autoimmune diseases. Finding nutritious recipes that suite her appetite led me to discover food’s healing properties.
As an occupational therapist, I saw diet related health disparities firsthand, which led me to make nutritious cooking appealing and inclusive.
I started UmamiHealth to showcase that wholesome cooking doesn’t have to be boring or bland! I blend Mediterranean wellness principles into Asian cooking, emphasizing anti-inflammatory ingredients without sacrificing flavor.
My approach celebrates non-restrictive, mindful eating. Together we’ll explore the joy of honoring your body and spirit through balanced, delicious, restorative meals.
At UmamiHour, you’ll find nourishing fusion cuisine energizing both palate and wellbeing through mindfully balancing flavors from global cultures. Together, we will explore the anti inflammatory and healing properties around the world through food.
More About Me
Cindy Huang
I am born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and have always been exposed to a melting pot of diverse food and culture. During my free time, I enjoy taking long walks, snowboarding, traveling, weightlifting, running, hiking, cycling and doing yoga. I ensure I gain proper nourishment through food to power my balanced, vigorous days. Whether hitting the slopes on weekends or sweating through intense gym sessions, the right fuel keeps me strong and energized.
By eating balanced plates with wholesome ingredients, I can fuel my workouts while still honoring my health. The key is mindfully listening to what my body truly needs each day and responding intuitively with uplifting self-care. I get the food I require to enable my active lifestyle while caring for my wellbeing.
